About Kyoka Hashimoto
Kyoka Hashimoto was born in Japan and came to the U.S. when she was five years old. She has always had a love for teaching children and started her education at UC Riverside to pursue her education in Liberal Arts.
After her four years, she continued on to get her Multiple Subject Credential at San Diego State University. After a year of subbing, she found that she wanted more and went back to get her Masters in Math Education (K-6), where she researched about how children understand Mathematics and how teachers can alleviate the notion of Mathematics being a hard obstacle.
Alongside her academics, she has been a summer camp counselor as well as an after school teacher where she help organize and execute summer camps programs as well as after school programs at the Scripps Ranch Swim and Racquet Club for 10 years. She was also a preschool teach at the facility where she has taught in a 2 to 5 year old setting. She has done more after school work with children at Barnard Elementary to organize and teach children the Japanese language.
She is also involved in the Japanese community as a teacher for Azuna-kai for 3 years organizing and teaching children from 3 years old to 16 years old. She has been a 2nd grade teacher for Kokugo Gakuen where she not only teaches the Japanese language but include the culture and music in her lessons.
She has a passion for teaching the Japanese language for children with what they are interested in and expands their knowledge along with having fun!
