PROGRAM INFORMATION

PROGRAM GOALS

Thank you for your interest in enrollment at Connect the World! We are an after school enrichment program created under the San Diego Yokohama Sister City Society which is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that was established in 1957 and whose goal is to promote peace through mutual understanding and people-to-people diplomacy through initiatives and exchanges in the field of arts, business, culture, and education. Connect the World offers various physical, cultural, and academic enrichment activities varying from world cultures, Japanese language, coding, dance, music, etc. Connect the World is staffed by qualified professionals and trained program aides who provide a comprehensive program of developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities. Connect the World also reinforces the social, motor, and academic skills children learn in the classroom.

PROGRAM DATES

Our program is scheduled:

• Mondays: Art (2:00 – 3:30PM) 
• Wednesdays: Japanese (12:00 – 1:30PM)
• Fridays: Dance (2:00 – 3:30pm)

JAPANESE CLASSES BEGIN AUGUST 21ST, 2024 

BEGINNING DATE FOR ART AND DANCE IS TBD

We are not open on Federal Holidays or scheduled School Breaks. 

PROGRAM LOCATION

Connect the World is located on campus at Doyle Elementary School.

PROGRAM TUITION AND RATES

Our program is a PAID program, we charge a monthly tuition rate dependent on how many classes (Art, Japanese, or Dance), you would like to take. Each class is 4 sessions per month. Prices are per student:

• 1 CLASS (Ex: Japanese only) = $125 / month 
• 2 CLASSES (Ex: Japanese AND Art) = $220 / month
• 3 CLASSES (Ex: Japanese, Art, AND Dance) = $300 / month

STUDENT ELIGIBILITY

Your child(ren) must be enrolled during the regular school day at the school to which you are applying for Connect the World.  Your child(ren) must be enrolled into Kindergarten through 5th grade. All families with children in elementary school interested in participating in Connect the World during the 2024-25 school year are required to submit an online application. 

AFTER SUBMITTING FORM

Once you submit your application form, our Program Director, Cynthia Le will be emailing you a confirmation email. She will be emailing additional information about payment, classroom location, and pick-up procedures in August!
