🌎 PROGRAM INFORMATION 🌎

PROGRAM GOALS

Thank you for your interest in enrollment at Connect the World! We are an after school enrichment program created under the San Diego Yokohama Sister City Society which is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that was established in 1957 and whose goal is to promote peace through mutual understanding and people-to-people diplomacy through initiatives and exchanges in the field of arts, business, culture, and education. Connect the World offers various physical, cultural, and academic enrichment activities varying from world cultures, Japanese language, coding, dance, music, etc. Connect the World is staffed by qualified professionals and trained program aides who provide a comprehensive program of developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities. Connect the World also reinforces the social, motor, and academic skills children learn in the classroom.

🌟 PROGRAM DATES

Our program is scheduled Monday to Friday 2:15PM – 6:00PM, every day that students have a regular school day. We are not open on Federal Holidays or scheduled School Breaks. On scheduled minimum days our program runs from 12:15PM – 6:00PM (this includes Kindergarten Week (1st week of school) and Parent-Teacher Conference Week). 

We begin our program operations on the first day of school (Monday, August 11th, 2024) and continue until the end of the school year (May 29th, 2025). 

🌟 PROGRAM LOCATION

Connect the World is located on campus at Crown Point Junior Music Academy. Currently, we are in room K1. 

🌟 PROGRAM TUITION AND RATES

Our program is a PAID program, we charge a monthly tuition rate dependent on Full-Time or Part-Time enrollment

• Full-time Enrollment: 4 – 5 days per week
• Part-time Enrollment: 2 – 3 days per week

• Tuition Rates are as follows (per month):
  

  Monthly Tuition (Full-time) 1 student:			$415.00
  Monthly Tuition (Full-time) 2+ students:			$780.00
  Monthly Tuition (Part-time) 1 student:			$355.00
  Monthly Tuition (Part-time) 2+ students			$660.00

  There is a discount applied if you enroll more than 1 student into our program

💫 SIGN UP FEE

First year families must also pay a one-time fee of $100 upon enrollment. This allows us to prepare the classroom with new supplies and space for your students before they begin the program. 

🌟 STUDENT ELIGIBILITY

Your child(ren) must be enrolled during the regular school day at the school to which you are applying for Connect the World.  Your child(ren) must be enrolled into UTK through 5th grade; UTK enrollment will be extremely limited this academic year. All families with children in elementary school interested in participating in Connect the World during the 2025-26 school year are required to submit an online application. This includes children on the waitlist from the beginning of the 2024-25 school year.

🌎 APPLICATION PROCESS 🌎

One application must be completed for each family applying for Connect the World. This year’s application will be available online beginning Monday, March 3rd, 2025, at 7:30 AM PST (Pacific Standard Time). The application must be completed and submitted online.

All information provided on the application is subject to verification. Falsifying any of the information may disqualify the applicant from receiving Connect the World services.

🌟 SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE PARTICIPATION IN CONNECT THE WORLD

It is anticipated that the demand for Connect the World services may exceed the program capacity; therefore, it is extremely important that the application be completed and submitted within the initial application timeline. We reserve the right to accept or deny Enrollment Applications to our discretion.  

🌟 NOTIFICATION OF APPLICATION STATUS

Parents/guardians who complete and submit the application before May 26th, 2025 will be notified via email of the status of their application at the latest, July 25th, 2025. The email will notify families of whether their child(ren) has been accepted to participate, placed on a wait list, or is not eligible for Connect the World After School Enrichment Program. 

🌎 APPLICATION SYSTEM 🌎

🌟 PRIORITY LIST

First priority for participation will be given to those on the waitlist from the beginning of the 2024-25 academic year. In cases where a determination must be made between two or more applications, selection for acceptance will be based on date and time of online submission of the completed applications.

🌟 MEETING WITH PROGRAM DIRECTOR

After submitting an application, Connect the World’s Program Director, Cynthia Le, will contact you to schedule a meeting to provide more details on the program and discuss if the program meets your family’s needs. Meetings will be held on campus during program hours (2:15PM-5:30PM), so you have the chance to observe the classroom and meet some of the other staff. After May 16th, all meetings will be held over Zoom. 

Meeting with the Program Director is *required* before enrollment so that we have a better understanding of your family and your family is aware of the program expectations. 

🌟 ACCEPTED STUDENTS

Once notified of acceptance, the 2025-26 Connect the World Tuition Enrollment and Participation Forms are required to be completed before your child can begin participating in the program. Official registration links will be sent to you via email after acceptance. Parents who do not enroll into Tuition payments or students with incomplete 2025-26 Enrollment Forms may be un-enrolled from Connect the World. 

Students accepted after the initial application period, will need to submit their student 2025-26 Enrollment Form and enroll into tuition payments as soon as acceptance notification is received to be able to participate in the program.
